Manchester United come to BYSC | ||
| Robin Van Der Laan of Manchester United Soccer Schools dropped by the BYSC development academy to give the players some helpful hints.
Robin van der Laan was a household name in England during a brilliant playing career, which included the captaincy of Derby County F.C. in the premiership from 1995 through 1998. Forced to retire through injury Robin, has been hired by Manchester United to set up their Canadian Soccer Schools. The players were very impressed by Robins technical ability and demeanor. "He was very friendly and helpful to us, and showed us a lot of neat tricks" |

BYSC is committed to helping players at all levels develop their soccer skills, through various training programs. The Academy is a winter development program that is designed to supplement competitive teams training sessions, with guest coaches like Robin, and many other nationally licensed programs.
Players from the Academy are encouraged to develop their individual technical skills that will allow them to be a better player for their rep coach. A lot of our U12 and U11 academy players have gone onto the district program. The academy is just one of many Technical Development Programs that BYSC run throughout the year to help develop their players with quality instruction and individual attention. |

BYSC was proud to host David Benning of the Canadian Soccer Association at an recent coaching clinic. Dave worked with selected players from our rep program, as well as communicating with coaches from Mini, Houseleague, and Rep. Coaches, players, and parents attending the session were very impressed with the content of the clinic, the professionalism of Dave Benning, and how he was open and receptive to all comments and questions from everyone. BYSC would like to thank Mr. Benning for his time and effort to helping improve
our coaching staff. BYSC has made a commitment to improve our coaching standards through a series of clinics, and discussion on various topics to allow us to deliver better programming to all the BYSC players. This past spring selected coaches were sent to Indianapolis for the NSCAA coaching convention, and will continue to host a series of clinics this spring and summer with our Technical director and Guest coaches. |
